About Ruth

Who am I?

I’m an artist and business owner, a wife and the mother of two great kids, both of whom are now grown and are by far the best thing I’ve ever done. I love (need) to be creative and approach life in that way including domestic stuff like cooking and sewing. I have a passionate yet sometimes rebellious nature and I refuse to accept the status-quo simply for the sake of it.

As you may have guessed, my husband is Jewish and I’ve spent the last few decades of my life on a sometimes bumpy journey of learning how to make his people my own.

My favorite things to talk about besides my kids are God, faith, and issues of theology. And while I’m no expert on God, or faith, or issues of theology, I invite you to sojourn with me as I contemplate how to more fully make His people my people.

While my name is Ruth, it isn’t my first name. I use it here because, honestly, adventuring into the “blogosphere” is fairly intimidating and feels a bit like going outside without my clothes on. Additionally, I have it on good authority that there are some very cool people who use their middle names publicly. ;-)

Blessings,

Ruth

  1. Hi Ruth, I found you courtesy of Endtime Chaverim. I like your premise of making God’s people your people. We are Gentiles living in an Orthodox neighborhood with 6 rabbis on our block. We have been called to live among them, follow their feasts and Shabbats and pray for their salvation-veils removed completely! I will be interested to follow your blogs! Blessings!

    • Hello Mlorvick, and thank you for stopping by.

If you’re not very acquainted with Judaism, you stand to learn much about your own faith…
It isn’t always easy, and you will wrestle a lot as things begin to connect, but I hope you remain humble and loving, praying always for God’s restoration of his people.

      Blessings to you as well…

      Ruth

      • Oh, yes we have learned a lot in the 35 years in this community-to the point of losing almost all of our friends and family, following the Ancient Paths of Elohim-I have studied Judaism intensively for the last 9 years and have learned to read Hebrew, were involved in a Messianic congregation and now out on our own with a home fellowship-Jew/Gentile thing going-wouldn’t go back though!
